Brotherly Love

I love the Olympics! Not only do I love the competition but the stories that come from the athletes. I really have an emotional heart when it comes to people with disabilities. They are the ones to look up to when it comes to finding the true meaning of life and when all hope is lost in the world, look at life through their eyes.
Nothing is more true when you look at the strong bond between Frederic and Alex Bilodeau. I do not know them or much of their story, but boy during the men's mogul event at the 2010 Olympics on Cypress Mountain, I found myself rooting for the Canadians because of the images of Frederic. I believe that he was feeling the same emotions and adrenalin as his brother as he skied down that hill and won the gold, if not more. Alex talked about his brother and how he is inspired by him everyday on CTV right after he won the gold. His whole family joined him on the set and they all talked about Frederic and how he was the driving force for all of them. Of course my eyes were wet and my heart was full. I just wish that everyone in the world would use the Bilodeau family as a model for how to treat all people and that everyone needs a "Frederic" in their life which would make it that much fuller.

Hats off to Alex for making Canada proud by winning the gold and making people around the world look twice at their brotherly bonds.

Tip of the day: Treat others how you want to be treated.

  1. True that!! What a great story! Good post Kim. Like he said..on the days he doesn't feel like training he thinks of his brother...and he says 'what if i couldn't train today!?' so he goes & trains. So awesome. What a great race too!
