It has only been 48 hours and everyone here at the Caetano household is missing Daddy terribly. We have 8 more days until his return and are thankful that we can talk to and email him. I cannot imagine what it must have been like when there was only mail to communicate back and forth with. We are all looking forward to his safe return.
The children get upset about Daddy not being here when bedtime rolls around. He is very good at helping put the children down to bed. So, when he is gone bedtime is a real disaster. The children are not allowed in our room but when Daddy is gone, that rule changes. It is easier on everyone if we watch a movie in our bed to fall asleep to. When they are "out for the count", I put them in their own beds. This seems to satisfy everyone and makes it much easier on me.
Tip of the day: Don't let distance be an excuse for lack of communication.

ReplyDeleteI'm proud of you for making it easier on you and just letting those little ones snuggle and watch a movie with Mommy until they fall asleep at night. That can be the special thing you all do together when Daddy's gone, a nice little tradition. J.
